Amanda Watkinson

Contemporary

Amanda graduated from the University of Winchester in 2015 with a BA (Hons) in Choreography and Dance, during which time she participated in their study abroad programme spending a semester training at Shenandoah Conservatory in the USA.

Amanda’s main training has been in contemporary dance techniques however she also teaches street dance, jazz and musical theatre. Amanda’s Florian classes are rooted in various contemporary dance techniques combining aspects of Cunningham, Limon, Graham, release-work, contact and partnering, improvisation and physical theatre; she also encourages students to develop their creative and choreographic skills.

Outside of Florian, Amanda has a passion for community dance and specialises in delivering dance sessions for older adults and people with physical and learning disabilities and is also a qualified Mental Health First Aider.
