Modern dance is often seen on the stages of musical productions and is known for its theatrical qualities. The style uses travelling steps, high kicks, leaps and turns which all need strength and flexibility. Modern is an excellent choice for those students wanting to take on another dance genre alongside their ballet classes. Our modern classes follow the ISTD syllabus and children can enter exams if they wish.
Tap is also a theatrical art form often seen on stage and in films and has grown significantly within the school over the past few years. It is great fun and develops strong musicality, rhythm and performance qualities. As with Modern Theatre, we offer classes for children aged 5 + and follow the ISTD syllabus with optional exams.
